Basic Orientation Plus Contractor Training (BOP)

This is a 5 hour course developed by the Association of Reciprocal Safety Councils (ARSC) offered in many locations across the country. The purpose of this orientation is to inform the new contractor employee of general safety rules, regulations, practices and principles associated with the construction and contract maintenance/services industry, as well as re-informing and updating the experienced employee.

Course Completion

After completion of the classroom training, a validated written test in English, containing 50 questions is administered and each student must be able to answer at least 70% of the questions correctly to pass the course. Upon successful completion of the course, a photo I.D. will be issued to the participant.

Cost & Details

Cost is $40 per student for OSC member companies and $65 for non-member companies and pre-payment is required unless other arrangements have been made and approved by the OSC.

Registration (Pre-registration is required)

Pre-registration is required for all courses and courses are offered on Tuesday and Thursday, at the OSC office in Tulsa. Check-in time for classes begins at 7:00 a.m. and no one will be allowed to check-in later that 7:30 a.m. If your company has a minimum of 6 or more employees that need training contact the OSC office at 918-622-4771 if special arrangements are needed.

Participants must bring two valid forms of ID, one with a photo, from the following categories:
  • A valid United States Government issued identification card or license that contains a current photograph. This document must be unexpired or expired no longer than 60 days with valid receipt of renewal.
  • Valid United States Government issued identification consists of:
  • State Driver License, State Issued Identification Card.
  • Federal Identification Card.
  • State or Federal Inmate Card (includes County and Municipality).
  • Military Identification or valid US Passport that contains a current photograph.

To register for this course you must have an ID# assigned to you.
