Course Title: Basics of Workers' Compensation

The basics of workers' compensation is designed for the beginning student just starting to handle w/c. This course covers the history, and answers to the questions -- Do you have to have w/c, Who is excluded from w/c, How to obtain work comp, Dealing with contractors, etc. We'll also discuss what injuries are recognized and whether or not they are compensable. We'll also discuss the types of benefits payable in Oklahoma and how to return workers to the job. Finally we touch briefly on statute of limitations and settlements.
